Iftar/Dinner Days:
In sha Allah Iftar/Dinner at IFP will be on every Saturday and Sunday during the entire month of Ramadan for all community members.
(Dinner days at IFP: 21 February, 22 February, 28 February, 1 March, 7 March, 8 March, 14 March, 15 March).
These Iftar dinners are made possible by the generous families in our community and are an open invitation to all community members.
May Allah Almighty reward all the dinner host families for their generosity and sincere efforts and accept it in their scale of good deeds. Amin!
If you would like to join or support any host group, please contact the designated point of contact for each day referenced in the sign up sheet posted on the notice board at IFP.
Additionally, IFP is seeking sponsors for various Ramadan items and supplies. If you would like to contribute, please use the newly installed donation kiosks to sponsor any of the Ramadan needs and earn the reward.
Hadith: Reward of providing Iftar
It was narrated that Zayd ibn Khaalid al-Juhani said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives Iftar to one who is fasting, shall earn a reward equivalent to a fasting person, without detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.”
I’tikaf during last 10 days:
In sha Allah I’tikaf arrangements will be made during the last 10 days of Ramadan.
If you are planning to make I’tikaf at IFP, please contact Br. Ibrahim Shaikh.
Virtues of Itikaf:
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that : Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform Itikaf in the last 10 days of Ramadan until Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, took him. “ Bukhari.
The Prophet (PBUH) said : “He who observes the ten days of Itikaf during Ramadan will obtain the reward of two Hajj and two Umrah.” Bayhaqi.
The Prophet (PBUH) said : “Whosoever for Allah’s sake did even one day of Itikaf, Allah would keep him away from Jahannam (Hell) by trenches.” Tabarni.
IFP sincerely thanks the community for following the facility rules and regulations posted on the notice board.
Some friendly Reminders (please):
- No single‑use plastic water bottles during Taraweeh: To reduce waste, IFP will NOT provide disposable plastic water bottles during Taraweeh. We kindly request everyone to bring your own spill‑proof reusable water bottles. Water fountains are available for refilling. Please avoid bringing any drinks other than water into the musalla to prevent spills on the carpet
- Classroom 6 (in front of the main hallway) has been set up as an overflow musalla area for men during all prayers throughout Ramadan, especially Taraweeh and Jumu’ah. Please treat this space as an extension of the musalla—maintain cleanliness and avoid using it for gatherings unrelated to prayer
- Allow enough time to arrive before Iftar time to park/drop families at the entrance and settle down for dua
- Park only in designated spots – Do not park illegally. Handicap parking is only for authorized vehicles. If the IFP parking lot is full, park in the overflow Chevrolet lot
- Start moving to the musalla shortly after breaking your fast
- Make sure to place your and your children’s shoes “in” the shoe rack
- Brothers are requested to allow some time after maghrib salah for the sisters first to move to the community center for dinner. Brothers should use community center entrance/exit for dinner
- Avoid wastage of any food or paper products
- Clean up after yourself and your children (clean table, and area under the table & chair, and throw empty plates and water bottles in the garbage)
- You are welcome to take home any leftover food, but please make sure to do that after everybody has eaten and the host gives permission for it
- If you are taking leftover food, it cannot be taken to Musalla or placed in the hallway. Please take it to your car before Isha salah begins
- Make sure to leave the bathroom clean after usage. Urination while seated (if not possible, please make sure to lift the toilet seat and clean after usage)
- Guide and monitor your child(ren) at all times
- Emergency exit doors are for emergency use only
- IFP is a non-smoking premises. This rule applies both inside the building and the entire IFP premises
Tips/Advices:
- Spend the precious time before Iftar in making Dua’a, as it is one of the preferred times when Dua’a is accepted
- Finish your dinner early and try to benefit from the time before Isha in Quran recitation
- Maintain silence in Musalla during all Salahs, Khatira’s, and announcements
- Leave shortly after Taraweeh prayer; it may help you to make it for Fajr prayer at the Masjid In sha Allah
